I should have read the reviews and not rushed into downloading the app. Such a big disappointment after high expectations.

I am reading quality articles, ad-free. In bed. Happy to pay.
Subscription required to read. Thats unexpected since German version requires no subscription :s Just bookmark the site in the browser and forget the app.
The app requires me to pay to read every single article. I can get those for free through safari so this app is pointless.
Their reports are clear-cut and trustable!
This isnt a free news app. You cant view any articles without paying 3.99 for 6 months!!!! Lame
The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is that its not optimized for the iPhone 5 screen yet. Its a bit annoying to be paying for a subscription and not have the app updated. But the content is first rate and well worth the minimal subscription price. It blows my mind that people give the app one star because of the subscription when it is very clearly spelled out in the description.
I am will just use the website.
Great app, but please add full iPad support.
Wont open & crashes. Please fix!
I like the ability to be able to read where I want, not necessarily in front of my computer. Its worth it to me to pay $3.99/6 months for the convenience. I dont have a laptop, or a tablet. For the price of a mocha, I can go get a mocha (so thats 2 mochas) and read Der Spiegel in a coffee shop.
app asks to renew my subscription but it is still valid for six weeks PLEASE FIX IT
An app that hasnt been updated in 3 years charging for a subscription which can be bypassed by simply going to their website? Yeah, no thanks.
Finally updated to support iOS 8 on iPhone 6. Thank you, Der Spiegel!
News has not been updated in at least three days. I was going to delete the app and reinstall it to see it it would pick up new information, but it says I will lose my data. Not sure if that affects my subscription, though.
Crashes quite a bit - some articles are unreadable due to persistant crashing. Others are fine. I would, however, expect more consistency from a paid subscription.
If you subscribe from their free app, you get to the final prompt without ever being informed of the price. You also get automatic renewal, and good luck if you want to turn that off.
I thought this was free. Not their fault. Mine. Decided to delete because I can read this for free online.
