OMG, its just 2.99 for six months, such useless reviews just bring the star average down. Its a great app, works absolutely fine, has great in-depth analysis content. Great value for money!

Its "free" to download in the same way its "free" to walk into a shop. After youve downloaded the app you get absolutely nothing.

Even with the in-app subscription, the content is similar to what is free on the English language Web site. So the only reason to buy the app/subscription combo is for iPhone specific formatting. However the app hasnt been updated in 3 years, so the formatting is lousy. Dont waste your money, read Der Spiegel for free in a browser.

My only gripe is that you dont upgrade your news on a daily basis.

I actually subscribed to access articles. However, the latter are outdated by several days or even weeks. This app does not provide any added value to the news that one might be seeking. Do not spend any dime for it!

Nice, clean design. But - no matter which rubric I choose, all I get is old news. Very disappointing.

I have a paid subscription to this app but it crashes upon start in iOS 10. No idea if the app will be updated since it hasnt been since February of 2015. If Der SPIEGEL arent going to support it, they should pull it from the store so others dont pay the subscription fee. Trying to contact the developer has yielded no response. Sad. I liked this app

I saw that this ap was available as I visited the computer website today. Finally this great informational site is available on the IPhone! It is a a mirror image of whats on line, well organized, informative, accessible and a bargain even if you pick the 6 month subscription.

Disappointed. Why is it free online but the charge you on the iPhone? I know its cheap but I get it for free on my MacBook.

I peruse der spiegel on a daily basis and was thrilled to see this app! I rely on this news source to provide a different perspective on world news, economics, and politics. The photo galleries are great too! $3.99 for 6 months of quality journalism is a bargain.

I can get the same information via safari in the same format, why would I pay for it with the app?

This "free" app will require you to purchase a subscription in order to read anything. Just be forewarned.

You can download the app for free, but to read any article theres a subscription fee. If the app costs something to access, it should offer content that is subscriber-only access. You can read the same article from the website, so why use the app?

Its all true. The website is free, but the app has a paywall. Dont download, or do then give a one star review.
